Tales of the Bishop

My comic based on the Bishop Isaac Hellmuth founder of Western University in London Ontario. It's out today in the March 5th edition of Western News

Originally a couple colleagues and I joked about creating a comic based on "The Bish" where he might travel through time and fight vampires, zombies, aliens and the vile werelynx a far more diabolical lyncanthrope.

I'll add some of the earlier pages that were drawn. Those pages illustrate something a little closer to our original vision.

Meta coincidence

I needed to create an icon about neuroimaging.

So I turned to google for info. I looked up "Use of neuroimaging to read human thought" and... What did i find?

One of my own illustrations.

 I ended up making this.

Weird coincidence.

Stone Tooth Mountain

I've been drawing a lot lately with my ipad. Initially it was just supposed to be for sketching and then I'd bring the files into illustrator and I'd refine them. The weird thing is I find myself using the ipad more and more, I've found that Adobe Ideas has been a fantastic program. Here's a landscape that I drew the other night.

The New Yorker

The New Yorker

This cover was designed for the latest issue of the Western News, Western University's newspaper of record since 1972. It is the convocation issue and I decided to keep it classy by paying an homage to the original New Yorker cover from February 21, 1925.

Conan

The Barbarian

"Between the time when the oceans drank Atlantis and the rise of the sons of Aryus, there was an age undreamed-of. And unto this Conan, destined to bear the jeweled crown of Aquilonia upon a troubled brow. It is I, his chronicler, who alone can tell thee of his saga. Let me tell you of the days of high adventure."

-Wizard of the Mounds

Probably the first comic I ever read belonged to my brother, a Savage Sword Of Conan. I have no idea what issue but I'm sure it was drawn by Ernie Chan or John Buscema.

I recently found one of the earliest comics I ever drew and completed, 12 pages and at the age of 11. The find inspired me to do a couple sketches.

Unravelling Head?

An illustration that will be appearing in a book I'm designing. It's been used before but it's always nice to get a little more mileage out of something.
